Job Description
As a service technician, you will support the lighting, sound, and stage technicians in both production and line work. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the technical equipment in the departments as needed. You will also be involved in the technical setup on stage and the installation of decor. We also believe that you possess a certain technical ingenuity and can come up with smaller special solutions for lighting and props.
Our technicians work multi-technically, which means that the lighting, sound, and stage departments work very closely together and sometimes cross boundaries. Malmö Opera performs in repertoire, which means you will be actively involved in several different productions simultaneously. Working hours are mainly during weekdays and daytime, but evening and weekend work may occur.
The position is organizationally part of the lighting department, but as a service technician, you will work directly with the lighting, sound, and stage departments. You will also have a lot of contact with the decor workshops. The lighting department consists of 10 employees and is part of Malmö Opera's technical section, which also includes sound, stage, and property departments, decor workshops, and the food and beverage department. The position reports directly to the head of lighting.
